ABOUT ME
I was born in San Jose, Costa Rica, December 8, 1973, the youngest of 3 sisters. As a young girl I would spend my hours climbing and adventuring around my grandpa’s land in Ojochal de Miramar. Later, in my adolescent years, we moved to Jaco Beach, where I became an avid surfer and enjoyed participating in many surf contests.
In 1995 I moved to California for a new adventure. Hiking extensively around California, I came to love the great variety of outdoor life available there.
Once I climbed my first 14,000′ peak, I was instantly hooked on climbing. I now live in Shasta Lake, California - one hour from my “training mountain” Mt Shasta - with my husband, Michael Buturla, and my 2 dogs. I travel to Costa Rica often to visit all my family and friends and enjoy exploring my beautiful country.
Pura Vida!
